Over the weekend, NDP juniors and seniors participated in two builds for Habitat for Humanity, one in Havre de Grace, Maryland, the other in Aberdeen, Maryland. As they were pouring concrete and varnishing a deck, the girls helped transform houses that will soon become homes.
On Tuesday, October 24, students, faculty, and staff came together for a special Foundation Day liturgy marking the 190th anniversary of the founding the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND). This celebration was especially meaningful, as it was held during NDP’s 150th Anniversary year.

I attended the Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore, Maryland when Sister Hildie Sutherland was still living there. Every morning she would be out front or in the store welcoming girls with a friendly smile and a “How you doin’ hon?”
It is not to the Fire Department nor to the Rescue Squad that people turn to when calamity strikes at IND. Whether it is a mop or a shovel, or the elevator key that is needed, students and teachers alike go to Sister M. Notburga.
