Water

Plastics are one of the leading contributors to global warming and planetary disfigurement, and they contaminate water systems and food chains. Please click here to read about a new plant being built in Pennsylvania to produce more than a million tons of plastic, annually. To find out what you can do to counter the overproduction of plastics, visit the World Wildlife Federation’s “Ten Tips to Reduce Your Plastic Footprint.”

Prayer

Thank you for the forests, since they release oxygen into the atmosphere while storing carbon dioxide.

Response:    With joy, we thank You, O Lord.

Thank you for the forests, since they feed our rivers and are essential to supplying the water for nearly 50% of our largest cities.

Response:      With joy, we thank You, O Lord.

Thank you for the forests, since they create and maintain soil fertility; they help to regulate the often-devastating impact of storms, floods and fires.

Response:     With joy, we thank You, O Lord.

Thank you for the forests, since they are the green lungs of the earth, vital to the survival of people everywhere -- all seven billion of us.

Response: With joy, we thank You, O Lord.
God, in a world where we pollute the air, water and land,
give us the courage to realize our call to act
as stewards of Your creation.
