Going Home Like a Shooting Star is a documentary of the life of Sr. Thea Bowman. Born in 1937, she grew up in Canton, Missouri. Attending the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration school for black children, she was struck by their commitment to black children despite protestations of the white community. Addressing Climate Change: Laudato Si’ and the US Catholic Church  

Summer is the time to invest a little more deeply into areas of interest and curiosity.  Continue to grow your understanding of the seven goals of the Laudato Si’ Action Platform by participating in the “Laudato Si’ and the US Catholic Church , A Conference Series on Our Common Home” sponsored by Catholic Climate Covenant and Creighton University.  This free webinar series focuses on a different goal each session and provides opportunities to hear how the goals are being actualized through community engagement. Each session is recorded and the link sent the following day allowing for a second look and listen. The remaining sessions are scheduled for July 19, “Community Resilience and Empowerment; July 25 “Response to the Cry of the Earth” and July 27 “Closing Awards”.  All sessions are 8:00-9:30pm EST.
