AHA Music Mentors Get Ringing Endorsement

First-year handbell ringers from the Academy of the Holy Angels Middle School are receiving expert tips and hands-on assistance from experienced eighth graders. The sixth graders clearly enjoy getting one-to-one assistance from the older Angels as they learn to play the bells and chimes.

AHA Performing Arts Director Daniel Mahoney gives the eighth grade girls a ringing endorsement, especially for working to build the middle school’s handbell “team.”

“This partnership is a beautiful way for the older students to share their talents and form bonds with the youngest handbell players,” Mahoney added.

AHA Middle School, which opened in September 2021, offers several opportunities for young musicians to share and develop their instrumental and vocal skills. Angels in Grades 6 through 8 may join the middle school’s chorus, orchestra, or the beginner or intermediate handbell ensembles.
